Must-Stay: Palais Aziza & Spa

This was the first time I travelled to Marrakesh all alone, and I was so happy I was able to experience these days at Palais Aziza & Spa!

Not far away from the beating heart of Marrakech you can find the beautiful and serene haven Palais Aziza & Spa. Being located in the Moroccan palm grove “La Palmeraie”, it makes it the perfect place to get some rest and enjoy all the luxury and simplicity that Palais Aziza offers. Because of the warm enterance at Palais Aziza, you will feel an immediate sense of serenity as if you’re entering your own home. After being welcomed with a refreshing cocktail, I was lead to my stay… my own pavillion!

Palais Aziza offers six different free standing pavilions with each one revoking the colors and ambiance of six different Moroccan cities (Marrakech-Fez-Casablanca-Mogador-Tanger- Merzouga). Because of the gorgeous zelij everywhere, I decided to book the ‘Fèz Pavillion’. Having my own private garden with a shaded settee for relaxation, reading or simply napping, it truly felt as if I was staying at my own home. Besides having a luxurious salon with fire place, the gorgeous zelij-covered and generously sized bathroom has a panoramic window overlooking my little courtyard.
Not forget to mention the relaxing walk-in rain shower with a mini steam room for two – what else? Besides the six pavillions, Palais Aziza also offers several rooms and four different villas where you can stay with your complete family.

During these days being all by myself, of course I did not only enjoyed staying in my lovely pavillion, but also got to enjoy laying down by the poolside, swimming and simply enjoying the surroundings & silence. I love how, no matter how fully booked Palais Aziza is, I always feel as if I am one of the very less that is actually there. Next to the pool you will find the amazing lunch-spot La Pergola, this place offers light Al Fresco dining and grilled dishes all made with fresh ingredients. Of course, you can also visit Palais Aziza for a pool & lunch day. A few of my menu-recommendations (which you will find in the pictures below as well) are the Mozarella buffalo caprese with rucola and cherry tomato salad,  Caesar salad with honey glazed spiced chicken breast and for dessert of course the Josper grilled banana with honey pistachio and vanilla ice-cream!
